Description
The DS4014 is a versatile, high performance digital oscilloscope. It offers a variety of trigger functions and auto measurements, record / playback / analysis functions, selectable 50Ω input impedance and VGA output all as standard. Other standard features include a waveform capture rate up to 110,000wfms/s and a large 9″ WVGA display with 256 intensity level grading. The DS4014 is a flexible and powerful instrument at a very competitive price.

Fast and powerful
The first thing that struck me was how quickly the controls respond on this Rigol.
My previous ‘scope was a LeCroy Wave ache, Which drove me back to the trusty but aging Tektronix TDS210.
Even though the controls are easy to understand, there are still numerous videos on the website if there are problems setting it up. I used a lot of these for the decoding options, which are of course rather complicated.
Overall, it’s by far the best ‘scope I’ve ever used.
